Reflection: Effective leadership is not about an emphasis on programs or structures; learning is a human endeavour that is all about people. Relationship is the foundation for all learners to be encouraged and to feel believed in to acquire the confidence and competencies to succeed in life. Constant change is inevitable in education, as we always strive to break status quo and practice what is best for growth in learning. Innovation is often uncomfortable, especially for adults; our people should feel safe to take risk and trust that they will be supported along the journey. Critical conversations are less confrontational when a dialogue is created for authentic listening and validation of perspective or experience. Partnering with community offers the opportunity to provide enriched learning and to be proactive for learning improvement.
